Rachel Cohen, Ms.Ed., LMHC

Licensed Trauma Therapist | New York & Florida

Therapeutic Approach

I’m so glad you’re here.

I'm Rachel Cohen, a licensed mental health counselor specializing in trauma, anxiety, and life transitions. My goal is to create a space where you feel grounded, safe, and supported—whether you're just beginning therapy or returning after time away. Healing isn't linear, and you don’t have to do it alone.

I work with clients across New York and Florida, offering both in-person sessions in NYC and virtual Telehealth appointments.

Professional Bio

I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, where I graduated in 2018, and I’ve spent the past six years helping adults move through trauma with empathy and skill. I’m trained in EMDR therapy through The Center for Excellence, and I integrate this evidence-based method with talk therapy tailored to your individual needs.

Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in trust. I believe every person has the capacity to heal—sometimes we just need help accessing that part of ourselves. Whether you’re carrying old trauma, facing anxiety, navigating relationship patterns, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to untangle the weight of what’s behind you and build toward what’s next

Why Rooted Psychotherapy?

“Rooted” reflects my belief that healing takes hold when we feel grounded and supported. It’s about creating depth, stability, and room to grow. My work is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and tailored to your pace—not rushed or prescriptive.

If you’re looking for a therapist who meets you with warmth, structure, and respect, I’d love to work with you.
